If you don't already own a STIHL AS-System battery and charger, consider purchasing the STIHL GTA 40 battery-powered garden pruner set. This set includes two STIHL AS 2 lithium-ion batteries and a STIHL AL 5-2 high-speed charger. This allows you to start your tasks immediately.

The STIHL GTA 40 is perfect for tree and shrub care, professional horticulture and landscaping, and processing wood on construction sites. Trained arborists can also use it for pruning within the crown of standing trees. Its compact design, lightweight, excellent balance, high cutting performance, and long battery life make it suitable for various tasks, including tree care in parks and gardens, crown correction, drywall construction, interior fittings, and roofing.

Equipped with a powerful EC engine and STIHL 1/4" PM3 saw chain, the GTA 40 ensures clean cuts and fast progress. The automatic chain lubrication, which adjusts to speed, enhances its efficiency. For precise handling, it features an ergonomically shaped operating handle with a hand guard and an upper grip point for the second hand, designed to prevent slipping. The claw-shaped deflector mechanism separates the upper grip area from the cutting attachment.

Additional features include a mechanical operating system with a rocker on both sides, variable chain speed, a sprocket cover with side-mounted chain tensioning, and an LED charge-level indicator. Steel hook-in eyelets on both sides allow for attaching fall protection, making it ideal for treetop maintenance.
